Undergraduate Academic Research

I have not completed any undergraduate academic research and do not plan to. However, if I do decide to conduct research during my academic career it would be something relating to my minor, Sport Business Management. I can conduct academic research through the Devos Sport Business Management College. First of all, I would first attend the Getting Started Workshops that the Division of Student Learning and Academic Success gives. This would allow me to learn about connecting and finding faculty members to conduct research with and getting started on the process. If anything I would like to connect the most with the director of the Sport Business Management program, Dr. Richard Lapchick. He has conducted much work on equality and diversity and even has a publication on women athletes who opened doors for future generations. For me, it would be insightful and interesting to conduct research on women in the sports industry as there is a stigma surrounding a women's ability to be in the industry. Dr. Lapchick would be the best person to work with on this endeavor as he has done extensive research on equality.
