My Values
The following are some core values that I hold dear to my heart. These core values intertwine with some of my goals and aspirations for my future.
Family
My family have been my number one supporters since day one. They encourage me to work my hardest and pursue my dreams. My strong family values have come from my two grandfathers on both my parents' sides. They sacrificed themselves and enlisted in the Vietnam War so their brothers did not have to serve. They inspire me as I have grown up and seen them struggle with anxiety, depression, and PTSD from the war.
Without my family, I would not be where I am today. My parents have given up so much for my brother and I to have happy and adventurous childhoods. We are such a tight knit family that supports one another in our ventures. Since my family has done so much for me, one of my ultimate goals is to give back to my family once I am more established and have the means to.
Education
Education is a big factor in my life and is very important to me. I am the first one in my immediate family to go to college, making me a first-generation college student. Therefore, there is certain expectations I have for myself to achieve everything that I can. I have made President's list my first two semesters and then Dean's list my third semester.
My goal is to graduate college with a bachelor's degree in Event Management, a minor is Sport Business Management, and a certificate in Managing Sporting Events. Thus, this will lead me and prepare me for my ideal career as an event planner creating events in the sports industry. Hopefully, a majority of those events will be for charities and not-for-profit organizations.
In addition to my academic work, I am very involved in campus life. I am secretary of Sports TEAM society, involved in the Association of Bridal Consultants, and a member of Lead Scholars. I am also on track to memberships in The National Society of Leadership and Success and TRI Alpha First-Generation National Honor Society.
Travel
I have been fortunate enough to have traveled quite a bit in my lifetime. Some places I have gotten to travel to are: Cozumel and Costa Maya, Mexico, Las Vegas, Nevada, Chaumont, New York, Niagara Falls on both the New York and Canada side, Toronto, Canada, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, and Boston, Massachusetts.
Through traveling, it has made me aware of the impact that I can have on many different communities. Therefore, it is my goal, that once I am in my career, to implement events all over the US, and maybe even the world. These events that I will be taking part in, hopefully can benefit the many different communities I am fortunate enough to pass through.
