Volunteer Experiences
These are some notable volunteer positions and experiences I got to partake in over my career.
Florida Wedding Expo 2021
I volunteered about 10 hours at the Florida Wedding Expo on October 3, 2021. I was in charge of a "Ring Selfie Station" where brides took candid photos with their rings. I also helped with setup, breakdown, and their Wedding dress fashion show. This event was able to give me expert insight on the wedding industry, another career path I am interested in.
Vietnam Veteran's Memorial
I was fortunate to read the names of those who passed from after-effects of Agent Orange from the Vietnam War since their families were not able to make it. My Grandfather was also honored at this memorial. This memorial occurred at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington D.C. where they created a new memorial for those who passed from Agent Orange. This was something I held dear to my heart and was so grateful that I was able to be a part of this.
Riverdale Elementary
I was able to serve as a teacher's aid for over 17 hours where I played educational math and reading games with the students. I also aided in them taking their tests and completing their assignments that were online. This gave me new perspectives of an area I do not usually take part in. I saw how certain disadvantages affected them and I was able to make a difference to these kids.
SALT Outreach Inc.
I completed over 10 hours of service at SALT where I helped sort food, clothes, sanitary products, and hygiene kits for the homelessness population in Orlando. Homelessness is an issue that I hold dear to my heart and was happy there was an organization I was able to partake in to make a difference.
